LUKOIL NEFTOCHIM BURGAS is a major supplier of liquid fuels, petrochemicals and polymers on the Bulgarian market. The refinery is among the leading suppliers of these products not only on the Balkans but also in Europe and the USA.

On October 12th, 1999 LUKOIL acquired 58% of the shares in Neftochim at the price of USD 101 million in a privatization transaction that earned the Transaction of the Year 1999 award from the Foreign Investments Agency in early 2000.

Significant investments in the overall renovation and modernization of the facilities coupled with the introduction of modern management systems have turned LUKOIL NEFTOCHIM BURGAS into a sophisticated refinery operating in conformity with the leading international standards in petroleum processing and environmental protection.

In 2002 the refinery switched to the production of unleaded gasoline and low-sulfur diesel fuel, well ahead of the deadline envisaged by the governmental leaded gasoline phase-out program (2004).

Since May 2000 the refinery has operated its own Electric Utility.

“LUKOIL Bulgaria Bunker” LTD, established in 2008 is the first foreign company of the “LUKOIL Bunker” group.

For only one year on the marker “LUKOIL Bulgaria Bunker” LTD became the major bunker supplier in Bulgaria, providing full range of bunker fuels. Company supplies in Varna and Bourgas – Black sea and in main Danube river ports.

“LUKOIL Bulgaria Bunker” operates 2 bunker barges for heavy fuels and another 2 for MGO on the Black sea and 1 barge in Rousse (Danube river). Deliveries can be arranged also by specialized road tank wagons.

Nevertheless “LUKOIL Bulgaria Bunker” is a new market player, the company now has 80 % of the bunker sales in Bulgaria and is ambitioned to increase more and more total volume delivered performing better and better service.
