Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Pulev introduced Evgeni Simeonov as Special Commercial Manager of the LUKOIL Group companies in Bulgaria.
Today in Burgas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investments and Industry Alexander Pulev introduced Evgeni Simeonov, newly appointed Special Commercial Manager of the LUKOIL Group companies in Bulgaria.
He presented the main priorities on which his work will be focused over the coming months.
The main task of the new management will be to guarantee the uninterrupted operation of the refinery and the security of fuel supplies for the Bulgarian market.
“The main goal I have set for myself is to ensure that the refinery continues to operate without interruption and that fuel supplies for the Bulgarian market remain smooth. Together with the teams of LUKOIL-Bulgaria EOOD and LUKOIL Neftohim Burgas AD, we will work to protect Bulgaria’s interest and to ensure stability and predictability in the companies’ operations,” Simeonov stated.
Among the first steps he will undertake is the preparation of a comprehensive analysis of the condition of the refinery and the other LUKOIL Group companies in Bulgaria. The analysis will cover the companies’ financial condition, raw material inventories, existing contractual relations and current production processes.
A focus of the new Special Commercial Manager’s work will also be the strict observance of the international sanctions regimes imposed by the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as the introduction of mechanisms for monitoring production processes and the raw materials used.
Evgeni Simeonov was categorical that no layoffs are planned and that preserving jobs is an important element in ensuring stability and sustainability in the companies’ operations.
In response to publicly circulated claims, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Pulev stated: “There are no plans for nationalization and there cannot be any in a European Union member state,” adding that respect for private property is a fundamental principle and core value.
